Cake Flavours

Virtually any cake flavours are possible just use your imagination. It used to be popular to have a traditional dark rich fruit cake for a wedding or celebration cake, but that has given way recently to flavoured sponges. However, why not mix up some cake flavours. A mixture of sponge and buttercream flavours can add a subtle twist to the taste.

At Regency Cakes we are all about the taste and want our cakes to taste as good as they look. So your decision on the flavour is very important to you and us.

Our three most popular flavours are….

Vanilla sponge with raspberry jam and vanilla buttercream

Chocolate sponge with chocolate buttercream

Lemon sponge with lemon buttercream

Other sponge flavours we make (not in any particular order) are….

Salted Caramel

Red Velvet

Almond

Strawberry

Coffee

Banana

Raspberry

Orange

Coconut

We also have a range of mixed flavour suggestions…..

Vanilla sponge with mango and passionfruit buttercream

Cherry bakewell sponge with ground almonds and cherries and almond buttercream

Raspberry sponge with white chocolate buttercream

Raspberry sponge with lemon buttercream giving a taste of pink lemonade

Strawberry sponge with vanilla buttercream giving a taste of strawberries and cream

Banana and toffee to make a ‘banoffee’ sponge and buttercream

Chocolate sponge with orange buttercream for a taste like ‘Terrys’

Chocolate sponge with coffee buttercream for a ‘mocha’ taste

Coffee and walnut sponge with coffee buttercream

As well as colour suggestions which are usually based on a vanilla sponge or a corresponding colour for the flavour…..

Rainbow coloured sponge

One or two coloured sponge

Even more specialised cakes such as….

Carrot cake with lemon buttercream or cream cheese frosting (depending on the cake usage)

Chocolate fudge cake with chocolate fudge buttercream

Death by chocolate cake for a full rich chocolate experience

And cakes with an extra zing of baileys, or Cointreau or rum (for adults only)

We still make the more traditional fruit cakes (especially at Christmas)

Dark rich fruit cake fed with brandy (these require 6 weeks’ notice, to allow time for maturing)

Light fruit cake fed with sherry

Dundee cake with its’ traditional almond topping

Geneoa cake with its’ mixed fruit and nut topping

Simnel cake with it’s marzipan centre for Easter

As you can see you have lots of choice and if you aren’t sure about a flavour we will make you a sample so that you can try it yourself.  However, if you have suggestion that we haven’t thought about please let us know and we will make it for you.
